The Sun Comes Up, It's a New Day Dawning

Throughout the Bible, God shows that there is a special place in His heart for the marginalised and those crushed by the weight of poverty. Jesus' ministry leads to these people, preaching to and healing those marginalised, on the edges or outside of society, those overlooked or walked past by those who could be in a position to care. And through this ministry, Jesus equips us all and leads us to these people, to work together to help in many ways, through prayer, through action, by walking alongside; consistently and meaningfully expressing God's love for humanity to all that we meet.
Luke 14: 12 - 14 (NIV)
12 Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. 13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
It can be easy to help those who are like ourselves, to invite those we know inside, to see the success of an action and feel rewarded, but it can be much harder to reach out and invite those who are different, outside of society, refugees and homeless. We may not see a result of our actions, our prayers, our care, but our reward is knowing God's love and knowing that sharing the knowledge of that love can make a difference.
CAP is a Christian charity, it helps with the journey out of debt and it is brilliant when there is the celebration of the result of a client becoming debt free, but there is much more than this as well. It is invitational, inviting clients to share in the love of God. It is about prayer, love and support and walking alongside for all life's difficulties and the sharing of God's love, knowing that even though we may not see the result it does make a difference.
Freedom from debt can make a huge difference to someone living in poverty, but the knowledge of the loving support of God provides a strength and support for the whole journey of life. It can be a huge moment, like seeing the sun come up and light dispel the darkness, but when there are cloudy or rainy days it is the knowledge that even in the darkness, the sun has still come up and the light of God's love is shining in.
Prayer
Please pray for three clients debt free! Pray that they will have the strength of the love of god with them as they enter their debt free future.
Please pray for L who has reached out to CAP for help but has so many other problems in her life that need addressing first, pray for the CAP team working to point her in the right direction for the care, help and love that she needs.
