The summer holidays are often seen as a time for a break, to have a holiday, a change of scene, relax and refresh before going back to school or work. It is also a time to spend with family, celebrate and spend quality time together. It can be a time to take stock and reflect on where we are and where we want to be. For our Ely and District CAP clients, it can be a struggle, finding activities to entertain the children, feeling unable to enjoy a holiday like other families, struggling to get food on the table without the support of school meals.
But when we put our trust in God, put our lives into His hands, there is always something to celebrate, each new day is a gift and a fresh beginning.
Psalm 118: 21 - 29 (MSG)
21-25 Thank you for responding to me;
you’ve truly become my salvation!
The stone the masons discarded as flawed
is now the capstone!
This is God’s work.
We rub our eyes—we can hardly believe it!
This is the very day God acted—
let’s celebrate and be festive!
Salvation now, God. Salvation now!
Oh yes, God—a free and full life!
26-29 Blessed are you who enter in God’s name—
from God’s house we bless you!
God is God,
he has bathed us in light.
Adorn the shrine with garlands,

His love never quits!
God's love is available to everyone. He never gives up however bad things may get. He responds to our needs with bountiful gifts of Love and a free and full life. And this is something to celebrate and to share with those who are in need, who are grieving, who are living in the darkness of despair.
Nehemiah 8: 10 - 12 (NIV)
10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
11 The Levites calmed all the people, saying, “Be still, for this is a holy day. Do not grieve.”
12 Then all the people went away to eat and drink, to send portions of food and to celebrate with great joy, because they now understood the words that had been made known to them.
Celebrating together, sharing the Love of God with those in need, helping those living in darkness know the light of God's love and the joy of His strength is something for everyday, not just for Sundays or holidays but a celebration of every day that is a gift from the Lord. Sharing this message with our Ely and District CAP clients can help bring a bit more strength and joy back into their lives, strength to carry on through difficult times and support for the whole of life's journey.

Prayer
Please pray for all our Ely and District CAP clients, especially for those struggling to get through the summer holidays. Pray that they would have time for rest and refreshment and renewed strength for the journey ahead.
Please pray for our debt coaches, visit team and supporters, that the summer holidays would be a chance to celebrate and be ready for the work ahead.
Pray that we would all be able to take each new day as a gift from God and celebrate His goodness and inviting others to join in.
