Our God is Full of Compassion

In times of darkness and struggle it can be hard to admit their is a problem, to our family and friends and even to ourselves. We try to carry on and get by and hide the difficulties and even when we can admit to ourselves that we need help, it is a huge step to reach out to a stranger and ask for that help, to put our troubles into their hands and trust that they can help.
Psalm 116: 5 - 11 (NIV)
5The Lord is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.
6The Lord protects the unwary;
when I was brought low, he saved me.
7Return to your rest, my soul,
for the Lord has been good to you.
8For you, Lord, have delivered me from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,
9that I may walk before the Lord
in the land of the living.
10I trusted in the Lord when I said,
“I am greatly afflicted”;
11in my alarm I said,
“Everyone is a liar.”
When we have the knowledge of the love of God in our lives, we know that we have someone who protects us when we are struggling, someone we can turn to in trust with the darkest fears of our hearts. And God's love provides a place of peace and rest, a relief from the burdens of worry and the strength to carry on.
Isaiah 30: 15 (NIV)
15This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:
“In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength
For many of our Ely and District CAP clients, reaching out to ask for help from CAP can be a huge step, inviting someone into their home and telling them about their problems and putting trust in them to help with a practical solution. It may be a huge step, but it can also make a bigger difference in their lives than the journey out of debt alone, it brings alongside this a sharing of the love of God and the salvation He brings.

Please give thanks for all our Ely and District CAP clients, that they have had the strength to reach out and ask for help.
Pray for those struggling with debt in our communities and not knowing which way to turn, pray that they would hear about the help that CAP can offer and the strength to make the phone call to see how CAP can help.
Pray for our debt coaches and visit team, for the practical help they bring and for the love of God that they bring into our clients lives.
Pray for the work on increasing awareness of what Ely and District CAP can offer and the building of links within our community.
Pray for the next Money Coaching course in November, that this will help more people avoid debt and learn the skills needed for a more financially stable future.
