He Teaches us His Ways

It's great to start off this week with good news, with another client debt free!  This brings the debt free total for Ely and District CAP Debt Centre to 83, 12 so far this year. This is a great statistic for Ely and District CAP, but for the client whose Debt Relief Order (DRO) has come through, it is the start of a new life without the burden of debt, hopefully allowing more time to focus on life’s other problems and rebuilding relationships.

Being a better person can be a struggle for all of us, but when we put our faith and trust in God, we know that we have His unconditional love and forgiveness - He knows that we often fall short, but His love supports and strengthens us and He shows us which paths we should follow.

Psalm 25: 4 - 15 (NIV)

4 Show me your ways, Lord,

teach me your paths.

5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,

for you are God my Saviour,

and my hope is in you all day long.

6 Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,

for they are from of old.

7 Do not remember the sins of my youth

and my rebellious ways;

according to your love remember me,

for you, Lord, are good.

8 Good and upright is the Lord;

therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.

9 He guides the humble in what is right

and teaches them his way.

10 All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful

toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.

11 For the sake of your name, Lord,

forgive my iniquity, though it is great.

12 Who, then, are those who fear the Lord?

He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.

13 They will spend their days in prosperity,

and their descendants will inherit the land.

14 The Lord confides in those who fear him;

 he makes his covenant known to them.

15 My eyes are ever on the Lord,

for only he will release my feet from the snare.

When we put our lives into God's hands, His truth and love is a constant support, He does not hold our failures against us, however great, but shares His ways with us as a loving and faithful guide. God is not someone far off and unknowable, but real and present, who makes His plans and paths known to us through the example of Jesus' love and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. And through this loving support, gives us the strength to face all life's troubles and snares.

Through our lives and actions, we can carry this love to those who we meet along the way, we are reflections of His love and care and can, and should, share this knowledge with others.

This is what makes Christians Against Poverty so special, when our debt coaches and visit team go into a clients home, they are offering strength and practical support for one of life's problems, financial difficulty and debt, but they are also bringing with them, sharing and demonstrating the love of God; a love, strength and support for the journey through all life's troubles and snares.

John 14: 6 - 7 (NIV)

6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

Prayer

Please pray for all our CAP clients, that however open they are to prayer and the message of love that our debt coaches and visit team bring, that they would know the loving, supportive presence of God in their lives.

Please pray for the client debt free this week, that the easing of one burden will be the start of a better future.

Please pray especially for two new clients with first visits booked in the coming weeks, that for them this first step would be the start of a journey to a better future, both of financial stability and of love and support for all life's troubles.

Please pray for our debt coaches and visit team, that they would be strengthened to reflect God's love in their words and actions for all our clients, however difficult their lives and situations may be.
