Christ Displaces Worry at the Centre of Your Life

With the end of the school holidays, the beginning of September can be a time of transition for many, starting a new school or going to university, starting a new job, moving house, readjusting to a new pattern or season of life. For Ely and District CAP clients who are parents it can be an anxious time, hoping their children will settle in and fit in while worrying how to pay for the uniform and equipment they need. The whole CAP journey can be a time of transition, each client putting their trust in the local debt coaches and befrienders and the head office team to support them along a path to debt freedom that can be challenging and hard to see.


The Ely and District CAP team bring an added support to each client to support them on their journey out of debt, a support that can be with them and alongside them every step of the way and beyond:


Philippians 4: 4 - 9 (NIV)


4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.


8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.


The love of Jesus can be with us in any and all seasons of life, a constant help in times of trouble and celebration and someone who we can confide in at any time, good or bad. I like how The Message puts verses 6 - 7:


6-7 Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.


Having Christ alongside you in the journey of life doesn't mean a life without worry or suffering, but it means a life rooted in a knowledge of wholeness, that things will work out for good and that Christ can walk alongside you and displace your worry with His loving support, to be able to see and feel His love around us outside of our own worries.



Please pray for two more Ely and District CAP clients debt free in the last week! This is a couple who have been working with CAP both through the journey out of debt, with debt freedom through a DRO (Debt Relief Order) each, but also through the Money Course to help better understand their finances and budgeting to be ready for the transition to debt freedom and a more financially stable life beyond. Pray that they would know the love and Support of Jesus in their lives both at this time of transition to debt freedom, but through all of life's journey.
