Those who Sow with Tears, Will Reap with Songs of Joy

It can be easy to do things for people we like, to do a favour for a friend or lend a hand to a neighbour. But it can be a lot harder to reach out to those on the edges of society, those who are different from us, living messy lives. But Jesus came for the sake of all people, He did not come just for those in His home town, for His neighbours, family and friends, He came for those on the edges of society, the poor, the despised, the outcast, and He came not just for His own people, the Jews, but for all people. Jesus came and died for the powerless.

Romans 5: 6 - 8 (NIV)

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Through Jesus' death and in His resurrected life, God has done great things for all people, and to know His love is to know the joy of His risen life. God's love is a seed that anyone can carry, those who are suffering, those who are weeping. Even a small seed can yield a mighty harvest, a small action can make a huge difference. We may not know the harvest that it will yield but we can all sow this seed and share the joy of the harvest.

Psalm 126: 3 - 6 (NIV)

3 The Lord has done great things for us,

and we are filled with joy.

4 Restore our fortunes, Lord,

like streams in the Negev.

5 Those who sow with tears

will reap with songs of joy.

6 Those who go out weeping,

carrying seed to sow,

will return with songs of joy,

carrying sheaves with them.

For those living in the darkness of debt and poverty, struggling with addiction or broken relationships, the love and support of the Ely and District CAP team can help sow that seed of God's love in their lives, so that those who are weeping now, those who can only see darkness, can see the light of God's love in their lives and know the joy of His harvest.

Prayer

It is wonderful to celebrate two clients debt free this week, so far this year that is 7 clients debt free! Please pray for them all, that the easing of the burden of debt will be the first steps into a new and brighter future.

Please pray for all our Ely and District CAP clients, that the love and support of our debt coaches and visit team alongside financial assistance can help empower and restore hope beyond the debt journey. Pray that the seed of God's love would yield an abundant harvest in their lives.

Please pray for those who are living in the darkness of debt and poverty, who don't know where to turn to for help or may be struggling to admit that they need help. Pray that they would hear about the help that Ely and District CAP can offer, that this would be the first step on a journey to a brighter future.
